Week 12

I finally had my 2 year review done at work. I actually like having my review because of the feedback. I heard encouraging things as well as constructive things. I am excited to work on the things I need to work on too.

Work friends, lunch with Johanna while she was in town.

I got to watch my patient have a TEE done. A procedure where they put a scope down your throat to look at your heart. It was super amazing. Watching the heart pump was mind blowing to me. This of course, is not a photo of the TEE I saw but those little markings in between the RA and the RV is the ventricle. It was the coolest part to me, especially watching it work. I love the heart!

Midsummer Night's Dream at the ballet. I was Titania in the play in high school as well as student director. The ballet was quite different, however, very enjoyable.

And the snow begins again...in MARCH. Well, I made it home safe and I didn't have to work the next day. I was just hoping to make it to the store for sedar ingredients.

The snow was so beautiful, even though it almost hindered my Passover cooking, but this particular little tree made my heart smile.

Chag Sameach! Our sedar was wonderful. The food was great, I got to share it with friends old and new. But, this guy is one of my favorites. It was super wonderful and a blessing to my heart to be with him.

Here's a few more shots of the night at the ballet. And for the record I did watch the Jayhawks on my phone, with my headphones at the very end of the show. Who says you can't have the best of both worlds. Well, at least this time I did.

Week 11

I started taking photos with my iPhone. Since it's new I wanted to see how it works. This is a building I passed on my way home from work.

I worked on some education stuff at work today. Not so fun, but glad to get it done.

A friend was house sitting, so we went over there and played some games.

I came home from work today and got this fancy lunch bag free in the mail from Lean Cuisine. Yay!

Went to a bar to watch the KU game with my friend Shawn. We are now the Big 12 Champs 2013!

They asked me for my diploma at work a long time ago. I finally remembered to take it to them! You would think a nursing license would be enough. Oh well...I was glad I found it.

I had so much fun hamming it up with this little cutie. He makes me happy.

For the record, all my photos were taken on my phone except the ones of Zader. I think after taking so many last week I just got kind of burnt out. Sorry....next week they'll be better.

This girl captured my heart. I teared up about 3 times while taking care of her. She was very badly dehydrated and weighed hardly nothing.

The women carry these buckets on their head full of things that they sell. It's like a mobile store.

We visited an orphanage that really functions as a large foster home. Unlike most orphanages these girls were well taken care of.

I came home to friends taking me out to dinner and these gorgeous hydrangeas. I can't tell you how full my heart was!

What do you do when you don't have a photo of the day? You grab some friends and go get a pedicure. Which was actually way harder than I thought it would be after spending a week in Haiti.

After the first day of clinic I realized that we didn't pray with the patients. So I told my translator we were praying with everyone from there on out. It was pretty amazing. The L-rd showed up, and more people than just those we prayed for were blessed. It was pretty cool.

Week 9

Late again...sorry, this time I was in Haiti. Here's last weeks pics.

Another day at the Simon's. For whatever reason, we don't have many pics of Grandma and Pop with the kids. I told DeAnn I was going to grab some.

The trip to Haiti begins, but first a pit stop in Mobile to catch up with my cousins and Aunt and Uncle. Mallory didn't get to go with us, so, we stopped by her apartment for a quick squeeze and hello.

This band was playing as we walked in to go through customs. The first Haitians to greet us.

The school kids gather out front in the morning and sing songs for about 20 minutes each day. 6 am came early after a long day before, but, their lovely voices made it a lot better.
