Passover Project

It's true! Passover is almost here, my favorite or very near favorite holiday (sometimes I think I like Yom Kippur a little more.) So with that comes cleaning...lots of cleaning. The idea is to rid your home of chametz or bread and crumbs of bread. There is to be no leaven eaten during Passover so in order to prevent this from happening you must make sure there is not even a crumb in your home for this particular holiday.

I'm usually last minute, I usually give all my time to everyone else and then get stressed when I don't have enough time for myself. (new revelation) This year I've already been hearing from the L-rd about how to proceed with Passover.

I don't live alone and I won't be able to care for my home as if it were my own. However, I do have my own quarters. This year I've felt the L-rd tell me that I am responsible to prepare for what is coming, to clean everything out, so to speak. This means the places that belong to me: my room, my bathroom, my car and my body.

There it is, the Passover Project. So I'm posting this for accountability. I'm getting started with my cleaning. I'm meeting with my trainer tomorrow. I'm not eating added sugar until the big day and I'm working on cleaning up my heart and spirit as well.

I'm excited. You can hopefully look forward to at least subtle changes. I'll randomly post about my progress, mostly for my sake but if you're interested read on loved one, and thanks for caring about me.

Happy Passover season and may the L-rd do big things in you too as the time draws near to thank the L-rd for the miracles He has done!

Commentary

First of all thank you to all my faithful readers...and commenters! I feel very loved by you all. I'm so glad you are enjoying this project. Typically, I want to say slightly more than the amount of space I have, per photo. So, from now on the additional page that showcases the months photos will have a little more information about some of the individual pictures. I've updated the Month 3 tab if you're interested. Keep in mind not all pictures need extra words.

P.S. Usually when there isn't a picture of a person it's because I had to work that day and so I'm finding something to capture the day.

P.S.S. Here's Cass being such a big girl when they painted her face at the Family Tree Nursery open house. I just had to share it with you.

POTD - March

Here are the latest photos. Check out the tab at the top that says Month 3 photos for bigger versions of these. Sometimes the small ones don't do them justice.
Enjoy!

Purim 2011

Here are my photos from Purim, the Jewish festival of Esther. The fun thing about this holiday is that you get to dress up in costumes. There are several reasons for this 1- symbolizing the Purim miracle of the disguise that in the end set the Jews free 2 - to commemorate Mordechai being dressed in royal robes and 3- to make it easier for the poor, which we honor on this day as they collect from our offerings. On this day we are to give to everyone who outstretches their hand

Important things to note:
  • The picture of Eric and Susan is probably my favorite
  • I remember trying several times to get a picture of Leah but she was busy. I guess I wasn't successful cause I couldn't find one of her. This makes me very sad - she was beautiful!
  • I agree with whoever said that Tom looks more like Wesley from Princess Bride
  • I am way excited that Mike and DeAnn came and participated in the costume extravaganza...way to go MDBs!
  • All in all it was a delightful Purim. Praise the L-rd for Esther and her faithfulness to her people. Praise the L-rd for giving her favor and keeping the Jews safe.

Orchids, outings and other things

By request, here are some pictures of my new found friends. I think orchids are my favorite flower or at least tied for second with tiger lily's. I was playing with my camera here so that's why the pictures are, well, interesting.

The morning my grandpa passed away the sky was really beautiful!
Snow...again. I thought it looked really cool coming down on my window.
PaPa putting on Eliana's lovely gloves
Isn't she so cute
What cute cousins! Harrison is so sweet
Team Cass
I was instructed by Malachi to capture this moment
Another beautiful girl and her mama at soccer night
Soccer night is always a good time.
Yeah, that really happened
So did this
Ahh, I love her
It's been a great month so far. More pictures to come with the next POTD, so as always, please stay tuned...
Oh and P.S. if you want some healthy entertainment my sister wrote a little diddy that is kind of amusing.

What a kid

Leah called me last week and told me Cass hurt her leg, after hearing about it I told her it didn't sound so bad and gave her a bit of advise. On Thursday she said Cassidy still wasn't doing so well and asked if I would I come by to look at her. So I did. It didn't seem that bad but it had been 2 days and something about it just didn't seem right to me. So, I suggested they take her in. They let me come with them to urgent care where we found out little Cass had a buckle fracture in her tibia. Yuck! Well she was super brave and Tom and Leah were amazing! They read her books and loved on her lots.

Here's Tom with her in the waiting room.
He pretended to be the doctor which made her laugh. It was pretty cute.
Then he took pictures of her leg with my camera so she would know what to expect when we went to get the xray.

Here she is with her new pink splint (the real cast comes on Monday)
Look at that arm band - proves she was there. And man were we there....
6 hours later we walked out of the hospital doors. On the way to the car she says "mama and papa, thanks for taking me to the hospital." She was that great the whole time, I don't remember her crying once. Leah told her she was so great sometimes it's hard to believe she's real. She also told her she was like chocolate...you just can't get enough.
I was honored to spend the evening with such good parents. They're kind of one in million!
I love all 3 of you!
